Accounts Payable Clerk

Current Opening

The Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for all payments of goods and services necessary for the basic operation of the company. This includes processing vendor invoices and expense reports.

Responsibilities

  • Review all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment
  • Process invoices into the computer systems
  • Prints and obtains signatures on all accounts payable checks
  • Distributes signed checks as required
  • Answers all vendor inquiries
  • Maintains all accounts payable reports, spreadsheets and corporate accounts payable files
  • Assists in monthly closings
  • Prepares analysis of accounts, as required
  • Performs filing and copying
  • Any other duties as assigned and/or requested

  • Perform any and all other duties as assigned or requested by the Chief Financial Officer
  • Excellent telephone and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently to meet goals and complete tasks in a timely fashion
  • Proven reliability, follow-through and attention to detail
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation
  • Create a comfortable atmosphere for fellow employees by maintaining the CPS Code of Conduct

Work Environment

This job operates in an office environment and requires the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, calculators, fax and copy machines.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, read and write. This position is largely sedentary, thus requires sitting for the duration of the shift.

Required Education and Experience

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • 1-2 years of Accounts Payable experience
  • Customer service experience
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel
  • Must have the ability to do basic math calculations:  add, subtract, multiply and divide
